The house has been quiet over the winter period but will soon be busy again catering for weddings and functions. Repair work has been carried out to the stone work, and whilst working on re-pointing the outside walls the stonemasons made a discovery at the first-floor level. A small window was discovered, and through the window a small chamber could be seen. It was filled with rubble but the walls appeared to be made with horsehair plaster. The room is in the chimney breast, and has now been concealed again.

Richard, the owner is hoping to put on display some old photos of the house, perhaps when it was used as a convalescent home during the war, so if anyone has any photos that could be copied with care, that would be wonderful.

Finally, it is hoped that Monk's Bar will be open again on a Friday evening for bar meals during the Summer. Watch this space!
